As a world leading institution for higher learning, Alvin and his team of more than 300 employees at NTU pioneered the creation of Next-Gen Digital Research Infrastructure, harnessing the true power of data to solve real-world problems through innovation.

This houses market-leading digital platforms and services allowing researchers to accelerate data analysis and scientific breakthroughs -- in addition to protecting Singapore's national research infrastructure, which is the largest data management framework deployment in Southeast Asia.

The deployment forms part of NTU’s strategy to catalyse high impact research and is aligned to the organisation’s 3-year IT-Business Strategy Plan. During this process, NTU modernised and simplified ageing IT infrastructure, drastically reducing 650 self-developed systems in the process by deploying cloud-first, mobile-ready, data-driven and security-by-design digital platforms.

The motivation is to reimagine what a smart, secure and sustainable campus will look like by 2025 -- underpinned by Automation, Analytics and Artificial Intelligence.
