  • Prior to joining Dyson as Global Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) in July 2019, Chin Kiat Chim held the same role at DHL Express.

    During his tenure, he played an instrumental role in helping establish a Global Cybersecurity Centre of Expertise in Singapore through joint collaboration with the Singapore Economy Development Board.

    The new centre launched to “centralise and strengthen” DHL Express’ cyber security capabilities, enabling the team in Singapore to “proactively monitor and respond” to cyber risks within a network spanning more than 220 countries and territories.

    As the first logistics company with a dedicated cyber security facility, DHL Express piloted and deployed advanced cyber security technologies related to the logistics sector, alongside joining forces with Singapore-based organisations to grow research and development capabilities.

    Under the leadership of Chin Kiat, the centre also focused on research activities specific to resilient cyber defence, real-time security monitoring and advanced analytics, as well as cyber threat intelligence for early risk mitigation.

    To nurture ecosystem talent, alongside supporting the city-state’s Smart Nation drive, the centre also offers internship opportunities to students from local tertiary institutions, offering “real-world experience” in managing business-related cyber risks.

    Now global CISO of Dyson, Chin Kiat is tasked with transforming cyber security functions to support the rapid company growth.
